Brew Team Vacancies

Posted by Thornbridge Brewery on

We’re looking to fill a number of roles to support the Thornbridge Brew Team.
  1. Brewery Operative

A full time vacancy has arisen for a Brewery Operative.  The job will involve assisting the brewing team and mainly involve cask cleaning/filling and working on the packaging  line. The job requires a high degree of manual handling and therefore the successful applicant should be fit and capable of handling relatively heavy loads. A passion for craft beer and a 'can do' attitude would certainly be advantageous.  The usual hours of work will be between 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

This is an entry level position and therefore the salary is the national minimum wage. However, there is room for relatively swift progression within the brewing team if the candidate shows potential and aptitude for the job. This role would also suit someone interested in beginning a career in brewing and in this instance a scientific or brewing background would be beneficial but this is certainly not a requirement, as full training will be provided on the job.

If you are interested in this role, please please send your CV and a covering letter to our head brewer

  1. Shift Brewer

We are seeking an experienced brewer to join the team. You will join our team of brewers working at our main production plant in Bakewell.  Responsibilities will include:

  • wort production
  • cellar management
  • yeast propagation and laboratory analysis
  • operating and overseeing our four packaging lines
  • following our extensive QA/QC procedures
  • barrel ageing programme management
  • representing the company at various events

The job requires a certain degree of heavy lifting and therefore the applicant must be able to lift 25kg sacks. Brewing education to IBD diploma standard or equivalent is desirable, but not essential.

An attention to detail and cleanliness, as well as a passion for beer, are absolutely essential.  We work on a shift system, which you will join only once fully trained.

Salary will be dependent on experience and we also offer a generous holiday allowance and a matched contribution pension scheme. We are also committed to lifelong learning and will support any successful candidate in their continued brewing education.

If interested, please send your CV and a covering letter to our head brewer, Rob Lovatt, at

The closing date for both roles is Wednesday 31st July at 12pm.
