Lord Marples, 4% Classic Bitter
Lord Marples was the first ever Thornbridge beer! Brewed in 2005 at the Hall Brewery we wanted to try a traditional style for our initial offering, and a classic Bitter seemed perfect.
It pours an attractive mahogany, bringing forth flavours of honey and caramel with just a light bitterness in the finish to keep it balanced.
It’s named after Mr Marples, a former owner of Thornbridge Hall, who enjoyed using the title of Lord while never quite achieving it officially, we thought we would bestow it upon him.

This item is bottle conditioned
Bottle conditioning has numerous benefits to the beer in bottle:
- Oxygen reduction, keeping the beer fresher for longer.
- Tighter CO2 bubbles, which gives a softer, more gentle feel in terms of
carbonation.
- The beer is reseeded with live yeast; this means the yeast will be busy doing
its own ’home improvements’ as the beer continues to mature in the bottle.
The minimum order quantity for Pick and Mix is 12 beers and multiples thereof, without 12 beers or a multiple thereof in your cart your order will not be shipped.
